Bolshoi 2012

Kinsey had a great time showing in Alpharetta this weekend. There were LOTS more riders than she is used to, and OLDER comptetion as well. She had some rough spots during her two days of showing, but came out pretty well for herself, with several ribbons, a Reserve Champ and best of all, a overall second place in a class that she had just tried for the first time.

Rookie

Tonight was Kinsey's last regular game of her first softball season. She lost her confidence a bit and ended up with two strikeouts and a line drive out at first, but came away with Rookie of the Year award at her banquet. It will be interesting to see if she decides to play again in the future.

Mother's Day Treats

Mother's Day weekend was filled with lots of special treats for me this year. It started on Friday morning with Muffins for Mom at Kinsey's school. Saturday morning, Kinsey and I went to the barn for Mother's Day "Hay Day" where we had mother-daugther races and horse cake decorating. It was a really fun morning together! On the special day itself, I was treated to a pancake breakfast-in-bed along with a a beautiful rendition of "Happy Birthday" from Max. At approximately 8:30 Mother's Day morning, Max proclaimed he was ready for Mother's Day to be over so he could quit being nice to me. Great.

Derby Day

We had a fun time with lots of good friends recapping our marathon trip and watching this year's Kentucky Derby on TV. Kinsey was pulling for the pretty gray horse, Creative Cause, who came in a respectable 5th place.

The Graduate

We officially have a second preschool graduate in the house now as Max participated in his commencement ceremony (ie musical) this afternoon. The kids (all 152 of them) and especially the teachers did a great job putting on the show. Max's class sang a cute bowboy song (how appropriate) and then each kid got to walk across the stage and have their name called by the director. Kindergarten, here he comes!!! :/
