We had a big St Patrick's Day this year! Kinsey informed me the afternoon before that she wanted to wear green from head to toe ("because with a last name last Patrick, you just HAVE to, Mom") and in addition, her homework assignment was to make a leprechaun trap from her class party the next day. So I accepted the challenge and got a good start on the crafting while the kids were at church Wendesday night. I bought and made a tee shirt and pair of flip flops and unloaded the potential trap items for Kinsey to look through when she got home. We ended up making a shoebox trap with a hinged lid and placed rainbow Skittles inside as "bait" for the wee ones. Turns out that none of her classmates actually caught a leprechaun but green guys DID make an appearance in her classroom and made a mess of everything while the kids were at lunch.
A cute slideshow that Kinsey's teacher made:

That night, while Jack and I took the kids out to dinner, the little sneaks had some fun at our house as well. The toilet water was green, the kitchen table upside down, a picnic on the floor and the kids' rooms were wrecked. Oh the little giggles and squeals!!!
