With our summer wrapping up, the kids and I went to Mt. P one last time with Nanny and Papadad. We had a wonderful time hanging by the pool and shark-fishing in the Charleston Harbor. Jack came and joined us for the weekend as well and had a successful dead sea fishing trip with Papadad while the rest of us stayed by the pool. We had a fun experience playing with a manatee, too!
As I head back for pre-planning, Kinsey and Max get to stay behind for another week that promises to be exciting with the arrival of cousins Thomas and Davis and Aunt Larlar and an agenda full of water park, aquarium, and of course Blackbeard's Cove.
In today's busy world, this blog has become a way to share our lives with friends and family as well as personally journal thoughts and ideas of our day-to-day adventures.

Wounded Warrior 2014
I can't say enough about how proud I am of Kinsey's riding ability, but more importantly her "can-do" attitude after this weekend's horse show. As she and her barn mates were getting ready to load the horse on the trailer to head to the show, they realized that Kinsey's ride, Robyn, was very sick. She's been riding Robyn as of late due to the fact that her favorite pony, Smooch, was injured last minute in the May show. Anyway, she was given the option of scratching, since both of the ponies she's been riding were out of commission. The other option for her was to ride Guido, a HORSE that she has never even ridden before. She chose the second option, hopped on him for the weekend and did AMAZING, even getting a first place! In addition, she competed in two classes that she has never competed in since beginning at SCEC--cantering in groups and the twice around. What an amazing kid! Love her!

Fishing Hole
After riding lessons today, the kids and I decided to bait our hooks and try out the SCEC fishing hole. No luck this time, but we still had fun!

Buddies
Kinsey and her riding pal, Amanda. These two have such fun together and have started doing some lessons together, now, too!

Six Flags Surprise
Today, we took the kids to Six Flags, a reward they both earned for outstanding reading this year in school. We all had a wonderful time and were so lucky with low crowds and cooler weather. The highlight of the day was finally getting enough nerve to ride Dare Devil, and then riding it over and over again!

Adventure Kamp
This was a first for Kamp Keowee...campers ages 10-12 were offered the opportunity to go to Adventure Kamp, a 2 night, 3 day camping trip involving zip lining, white water rafting and a trip to sliding rock. Kinsey has a marvelous time, made new friends, and enjoyed doing some wild and new adventures!

Kamp Keowee #3
What another wonderful week at Lake Keowee celebrating the 4th of July and another week of Kamp Keowee. Everyone had fun swimming, tubing, skiing and of course attending Kamp activities. The theme this year was Safari Kamp, which was rather fitting, because the 3 boys were certainly WILD animals this year, especially while Kinsey was away at Adventure Kamp. It was definitely a JUNGLE out there but we had a howling good time!

Stone Mountain Fun
Great night tonight picnicking and playing with friend, Reese, at the Laser Show. Definitely one of my favorite summertime traditions!
