In today's busy world, this blog has become a way to share our lives with friends and family as well as personally journal thoughts and ideas of our day-to-day adventures.

Pumpkin Time
For Halloween this year, the kids each had the homework assignment of decorating a pie pumpkin. Max's assignment was to create a Halloween costume for his "baby" the he named John and of course he wanted to make him a matching Darth Vader costume. Kinsey's assignment was to turn her pumpkin into a character from her favortie book. She chose to make a horse, Black Cloud, out of hers using a squash as its head and neck. I think both projects turned out pretty good!

Carving Pumpkins
We had a fun time trying a new approach to our jack o' lantern this year. The kids picked out a page from a DisneyVillains coloring book at Granny's house and taped it to our pumpkin. Then they each took a pushpin and poked holes through the page where all the lines were. Then Jack and I went back and "connected the dots" that the kids had made to create our Scar masterpiece. Pretty cool!!!

Ghost Train
The kids loved their first Tweetsie GHOST TRAIN experience Saturday night after the huge Bulldog win over Florida. Highlights were the Black Hole and Freaky Forest in the Boneyard, the Free Fall ride, and the "Spice Ghouls" on Main Street while we waited for the main event, the Ghost Train. Can't wait until next year to do it again!

What a BANNER night for Lugnut Max as he was 3 for 3 at bat and made two big outs at homeplate to end the game. Way to go buddy!

AthHalf
Today was a BIG day for me...I ran my 3rd half marathon at the Athens Half and had a GREAT time on an awesome course with perfect running weather and super friends! I dropped 23 MINUTES off my best time and accomplished my goal of breaking 2 hours with a 1:55:50. So excited!

Fall Festival
This morning, we took the kids to the Watkinsville Fall Festival for some games and crafts. Both kids spent their own money on a few rides but saved most of it for a booth they loved full of rocks, fossils and minerals!

AAHJA Finals
Kinsey just finished up her second year in the AAHJA Finals at the International Horse Park in Conyers, GA. This was a two day event, the first counting as a regular season show and Sunday counting as the Finals and Classics. Saturday Kinsey had her setbacks with a jump refusal and some technical mistakes but had a big accomplishment as she came in second in the Medal Class (which was combined with the next higher division of riders due to low rider numbers.) Sunday, Kinsey mounted with her game face on and hit another setback with another jump refusal although she recovered and finished off the Medal Finals nicely. Her biggest accomplishment was Grand Championing the TRM Division, which she has really been focusing on this year! She really wanted to win it! She put up the highest score on her Crossrail Hunter Course A but another technical error on Course B put her in 3rd for that division.
This wraps up the 2012 show season and starts a much needed break for us. We will see what the next several months hold in the horse world...

Cowboy and Indian Princess
Fun family weekend with my faculty picnic, my 20-mile training run, a fair and a Halloween birthday party for the kids, a fun football party (for a TERRIBLE game) and a long, lazy afternoon playing at the barn. Loving the fall temperatures and counting down until FALL BREAK and AAHJA Finals next weekend!!!
