Strawberries and Scouts
Kinsey has the GREATEST Girl Scout troop leader. She is so enthusiastic about what she does and the girls just love her. This week's meeting was a field trip to the berry patch, Kinsey's second visit this week! Boy, the strawberries this year are really big, delicious and sweet!

Nashville 4/5ths Marathon
Julie and me at the starting line
Me at mile 15
Downtown post-race
At the Parthenon on Sunday
My character was tested this weekend as I prepared to run my second marathon in Nashville on Saturday. I'd trained hard and well. A week before the race, the weather forecast looked dismal. It only got worse. And worse. By marathon-eve, there were last minute changes and contingent plans in place with certainty of hail, damaging winds and even tornadoes in store. As it turned out, weather at the start was quite nice. Storms were headed in soon, so those who were running too slow were warned that they would be forced to divert to the half marathon course. I ran steady and kept a pace that allowed me to continue on to my full goal. However, 3 hours and 45 minutes into the race (mile 21 for me) there were some threatening lightning bolts and the race was called off. So, how did I respond? Did I hold my head up high and finish strong? No way! I was a big BABY who was so mad and so disappointed I couldn't stand it! I wallowed and indulged in a pity party. Oh, was I a stinker! Guess I learned a little bit about myself. Guess it wasn't very pretty. But, hey, life goes on. I was safe and that is what matters most...I guess! :P
While I was gone, Jack played SuperDad and took the kids to see Annie at the theater, to the strawberry patch and to church. At least one of us had character this weekend! ;)

Perfect Picnic
Batter Up!
Later on Saturday, we went to a fabulous baseball party for the Griner twins. Complete with a baseball diamond, the party was adorable. I wish I had takend pictures of the baseball cake balls and decorations, but the pictures show how much fun the kids had playing America's favorite pasttime.
An how about THESE precious cheerleading twins???

Train Days
Luck of the Irish
What a beautfiul week it has been in Georgia! We have enjoyed it with bike rides, playgrounds and a trip to the tennis courts. Friday night, Kinsey's school had a precious family picnic with hot dogs, games and crafts. I snuck out a few minutes early to go run the 2nd Annual Disciple Dash 5K. After the race (3rd in my age group--woo hoo,) we had a suprise send-off party for my running bud, Teresa who will be runinng in her first Boston Marathon tomorrow morning. I am so proud of (and amazed by) her accomplishment!

Spring Break 2010
What a wonderful week in Charleston the kids and I had for Spring Break this past week. Nanny and Papadad invited us to their new beach house and for the first time in 3 years, the weather was GORGEOUS! We all had a blast playing on the beach, at the pool, riding in Papa's boat and just enjoying each other's company. Thanks so much for the memories! We love you!

Moving Dirt
Farm Days
This week was the kindergarten barn dance at Kinsey's school. The kids worked very hard for several weeks learning songs and dances to share with us parents. In addition, going along with the theme of the week, Jack took 6 chicken eggs in an incubator to her classroom to hatch this week. What fun the kids had. The best part of the whole "experiment" was that we got to bring the chicks home for the weekend afterwards!
