Briar Patch 2010
Once again, Zaxby's was big hit tonight with their annual Briar Patch (we also do the Zaxby's Winter Wonderland at Christmas.) This year was even better because there was a train ride. What an appropriate train car that Max chose to ride in, huh?

Goofball on a Cannonball
The Wreck
After the race, the rest of the girls headed home and Jack and I got to enjoy a quiet day in the Charleston area with the kids. We hit the beach for a quick walk (the winds were nuts) and then had a lovely dinner at this little secret restaurant called The Wreck. Delicious seafood and BEAUTIFUL view!

Jail Birds
Max and I were fortunate enough to tag along on Kinsey's Girl Scout field trip to the county jail after school today. It was quite the neat experience complete with an all-access tour. We even go to see the inmates (high-security ones at that!) Fortunately the glass was one-way reflective. It was amazing to learn that we have less than 40 inmates right now. Good to know, I guess!
My kids were a little too comfortable inside this jail cell! Hope it's the only time I see them in one!

Blur
It seems as as children get older, weekends seem to go by faster and faster. We seem to get busier and busier and the calendar gets fuller as each week passes. I don't necessarily think this is always a good thing, and I'm sure it only gets worse as time goes by, but at least for the time being, we have such fun on the weekends! This weekend was one of those that was filled from start to finish with things to do.
Here are some pics from Friday night's Georgia baseball game.
Saturday morning was Touch a Truck and a fun run race with Kinsey followed by the kids (and Jack) getting to meet precious Baby Davis for the first time.
Finally, the weekend was rounded out with the AWANA Grand Prix race where Kinsey's "Rainbow 2000" derby car made its debut run.

March 16, 2010--There couldn't have been a more beautiful date for the arrival of my perfect nephew, Davis Folger Pitman. 7 lbs, 16 oz and 20 1/4 inches
There is no greater proof than the birth of a baby!

Birthday Fun Brought to You By...
GRANDPARENTS!!!
After opening gifts and getting into his "treasure chest" of dress-up clothes (with a little help from his sister and cousin,) we took a trip to Chuck E Cheese with Nanny, Papadad, Granny and Thomas before they hit the road to head home after a fun-filled birthday weekend.
A quick rest and we headed to the park for birthday picnic with Nan and Granddaddy. Max couldn't have asked for a better birthday!

All Aboard the Birthday Train!
What a glorious day for Max's birthday party today! After weeks of worry about the weather, even snow earlier this week, the spring finally pulled through for us. It was a perfect party for Max, with "Mikey's Choo Choo Train" being the centerpiece of the party. Max didn't miss one single ride and even got his own private ride after the party was over. Jack and Papadad rose to the cake challenge again, creating their awesome masterpiece. Happy Birthday, my sweet little man!
