First Place Finish
August 21, 2007
Last weekend was a big weekend for Kinsey. She ran in her second Titan Twilight Race at our local high school. Last year, although she did great, she tripped and fell and was a little embarassed. She vowed this year to win the race and practiced hard this summer! She is very competitive already and would even cry when her cousin Annie Doggie the Jack Russell could outrun her. I was a little worried before the race, however, because while I was trying to get her pumped up by telling her to run fast as the wind, she kept telling me "NO, I run SLOWLY" and she kept insisting she wanted her 12-year old friend, Mimi to win. I tried to tell her that was sweet, but Mimi was in another age group, so she might as well run fast and win!!! But at this year's Titan Twilight, Kinsey stepped up to the challenge. Not only did she finish first for the girls, she also tied for first overall in her age group, girls and boys together. She was speedy, for sure! I was so proud of her though, after ther race, when I tried to get her to call my mom on the phone and tell her she won, she said "I no win, my friends win" and although she got a medal and gift certificate for her accomplishment, she refused to gloat in her achievement. She's no daughter of mine! :)

Trip to Lenoir
August 13, 2007 Old news, really, but I got some really cute pictures of our trip to North Carolina a few weeks ago. We all packed the truck up and headed north for a busy weekend filled with visiting Granny, an awesome bluegrass cookout at my cousin Diane's house, and a Patrick family reunion in Hot Springs. Busy, busy weekend with lots of road time, but a fun time anyway.
In other news, Mom and Dad have finally settled in to their PERMANENT residence at The Cliffs. We have made two overnight trips to their beautiful home and I am anxious to get pictures posted.
Max and Kinsey are both doing great. Kinsey is an amazing big sister as you can see from the pictures.
School started back last week and while it has been hard leaving the kids everyday, I really love my job and we are so fortunate to have found an awesome nanny to stay at home with the kids.
